1″X 40′ HP 3760 0046 14 This long, high-pressure hose is a vital conduit in the drill rig’s hydraulic circuit. Its job is to transport hydraulic oil from the power pack or valve banks, often along the length of the boom, to the components on the feed beam that do the actual work. It supplies the necessary flow and pressure to power hydraulic motors for rotation or cylinders for boom and feed movements.

The integrity of this hose is directly linked to the machine’s performance and safety. A leak or failure results in an immediate loss of hydraulic power to a specific function, stopping the drilling cycle. More critically, a burst hose releases hot, high-pressure oil, creating a severe risk of injection injuries for personnel nearby and a significant fire hazard underground.

Visually inspect the hose regularly for any signs of abrasion, cracking, or bulging, especially where it bends or might rub against the machine’s frame. Check fittings for leaks. Any damage compromises its pressure rating and means the hose should be replaced immediately to prevent a sudden failure.
