Full Technical Description

1-AXIS JOYST 9106 0140 23 Mounted inside the operator’s cabin or on a control panel, this joystick translates the operator’s hand movements into a proportional electrical signal. This signal is then used by the rig’s control system to actuate a specific function, such as moving the feed beam forward and backward or raising and lowering the boom.

Precise control from the joystick is fundamental to both productivity and safety. A worn or faulty unit can lead to jerky, unpredictable movements, making it difficult to accurately position the drill. For example, if the joystick fails to return to neutral properly, a boom or feed function might not stop as expected, creating a serious hazard on site.

Common symptoms of a failing joystick include a delayed response, erratic operation, or a complete loss of function in one direction. The handle may also feel loose or sticky. Due to their internal electronics, these units are typically replaced rather than repaired to ensure reliable operation.
